((This takes place after Axel Faded away and after Sora and gang went to that Nobody town :P))
A dark portal opened and out came a teenage girl in a black trench coat, her face hidden by her hood. The portal close behind her as she walked forward. Suddenly the girl stopped and looked around, “Someone has faded away here...” She closed her eyes and concentrated on finding the last remaining flicker of life, “Ah... there it is...” Her eyes opened up and began to glow dark blue. With gesture of the girl’s had, a large energy of light formed in front of her feet. When the light finally left, Axel’s body was lying there, “Axel...why am I not surprise...” She smirked.
“Looks like we have another traitor.”
The girl whirled around, “Saïx!” her eyes widen.
“You know the penalty for helping a traitor, child!?” Saïx said in a dark tone.
“Saï-“ Before she could respond Saïx struck her down and darkness clouded her vison.
One year later...
Iris woke in a cold sweat. After looking around in the surrounds of her room ,she sighed in relief, “Just another dream....” She then looked at the clock, “Meh! 11:15 AM!? Hayner and the others are going to kill me!” Iris jumped out of bed. She got dressed in her usual out fit, short dark blue tank-top, Black low-riser jeans, and an ice blue belt. After putting on her black and ice blue combat boots, and black combat gloves, Iris, fixed up her black hair a bit and run out the door. She raced towards the Usaul Spot, where Hayner and gang were waiting.
“Hey look! Sleeping Beauty finally decided to wake up!” Hayner joked when Iris arrived.
Pence and Olette laughed. And Iris just rolled her eyes, “Ha ha ha.. Very funny.” she said sarcastically.
"Let me guesse. Another wried dream? Pence asked.
Iris nodded, "Yeah. But this time this one was really wried..."
"Well you ARE a wried person." Hayner said.
Iris gave him a playful glare, "Oh shut up."
Hayner grinned. "Oh, come on. Remember, we gotta sign up for the tournament today!"
"Oh yeah." Iris grinned, "I'll race you guys to the Sandlot!"
"You're on!" Hayner said, running out the door.
"Come let's go!" Iris said to Pence and Olette, then ran out after Hayner.Olette laughed before jumping off the couch, and followed Iris.
Pence groaned. "Here we go again.." he muttered, but jumped up and ran after them.
Hayner got down to the sandlot, stopping and waiting for them. He turned and saw them just catching up. "Come on, we don't want to be the last ones signed up."
Iris gave him another playful glare, "Cheater. You ran off without giving us a chance to get ready." She playfuly jabbed him in the arm.
Hayner smiled. "Ya gotta be quick. Come on, let's sign up."
"So what happen in your dream, Iris?" Olette asked as they made their way to the sign-up table.
"Well-" Iris started only to be intruptted by no other then Seifer and his gang.
"You losers signing up for 'Struggle'?" Seifer asked, walking up with his gang of Fuu, Rai, and Vivi. "Oh please! You chumps wouldn't last three minutes, let alone be able to fight me."
Iris rolled her eyes, "What do YOU want?"
"We're signin' up, y'know?" Rai said. Fuu nodded her head, but Vivi sort of...giggled.
"Well, I've signed up, anyway. Only takes one of us to be able to beat you snot-nosed losers," Seifer said, smirking.
"Oh well aren't we confident." Iris walked up to him, and looked him right in the eye, "Why not fight me now then? Or are you afraid to lose to a girl?" She said with challage in her voice.
"No problem," Seifer said with a grin. "Bring it, girlie."
Iris grabbed Seifer by the arm ,and kratae flipped him over her shoulder, "Don't call me girlie!"
Seifer landed on his back in the sand, but he easily got back up. "That's it. You've made me mad now!" He ran over and grabbed two of the 'Struggle' swords and threw one to her. "Let's go!" he yelled.
"Age before beauty." Iris smirked.
Seifer swung his sword at her angrily, but twisted to the side and swung for real, harder, at her back. She rolled at of the way got up and managed to kick him on his back. Seifer jumped up and swung downwards with his sword at her.Iris held her sword up and blocked his attack before shoving Seifer away hard. She then jumped at him and swung her sword at him.He blocked it, going down on his knees and sweeping his sword at her legs.
Iris sumersulted out of the way, "Let me know when you're ready to fight for real." She said in a mocking tone. Seifer growled, bringing his sword up, but suddenly, he froze. In fact, so did everyone else, except Iris, "What the...!?"
A portal opened, and Axel was dumped out onto the ground. His spiky hair was disheveled. "Damn it all!" he yelled. He looked over at Iris. "Oh, great, I finally found you!"
"Who are you?" Iris asked still abit shocked that everything forze.
"What?" Axel asked. "You...you don't...?" He growled, kicking the sand. "Damn that Saïx!"
Iris backed away slightly, "What are you talking about?"
Axel walked over to her. "You brought me back, remember? You saved me...then Saïx got you. Please, tell me you remember!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about or who you even are!" She backed away even more.
"Iris, it's me, Axel!" he shouted.
"Never heard of you in my life." Iris said, backing towards the ally that led toward her house.
"Iris, don't go! The Org....I mean, the new Organization, is coming for me. I need to get you out of here!" Axel called.
"What?" Iris gave him a confused look.
"Your dreams are REAL, Iris! Do you even remember why you came to Twilight Town? Where are your parents?" Axel asked.
Iris held her head, "What... no you're just trying to mess with my mind."
"THINK, Iris," Axel said. "Think about everything you know!"
"That's enough, Axel. Clearly, you're just lying about everything." Axel growled as a man with blue hair and a scar walked up in the same dark cloak as Axel.
"Iris, he is obviously lying. The man is...a traitor. He just wants to hurt you," the man said.
"You LIE, Saïx!" Axel yelled.
"Saïx... I heard that name before but...where...
?" Iris looked at them both wondering which one she should trust.
Axel looked over at Iris. "Your dreams! He did this to you, dragged you to this world, ruined your LIFE!" he yelled.
"Enough!" Saïx yelled. Two more figures in black, the hoods over their heads, walked out of two portals and grabbed Axel by the arms.
"Hey, let me go!"
"We'll make sure he doesn't bother you anymore," Saïx said assuringly.
Somthing is not right... "Hey leave him alone!" Iris yelled.
Saïx looked at her. "Believe me, he is not someone to be involved with. We'll take care of him for you."
Axel growled. "I said....let..me..GO!!" he yelled, two disks appearing in his hands. He swiped them to the sides, knocking the two figures in black off of him. "Get out of here, Iris!" he yelled. "It's for your own safety!"
Suddenly white creatures appeared and went straight for Iris, "Meh!" She held her hands up in defense suddely a blue bolt out of nowhere hit the creatures killing them, "Did I.... just....do that..?"
Axel smiled, but Saïx was scowling. "So...she still can do that..." he muttered.
Axel jumped into the air and brought his disks down at Saïx with a yell. Saïx jumped out of the way and waved a hand at Axel, Dusks appearing out of nowhere. Axel threw his one disk into the midst of them, then jumped over them, back to Saïx's front. Saïx drew his long weapon and smashed it into Axel, sending him backwards and to the ground. "Stop it!" Iris yelled, getting angery. This cuased more blue lighting bolts to hit the ground.
Saïx turned to her. "You always have to get involved, don't you?!" he growled. He jumped over the several Dusks and landed just in front of her, slashing at her with his weapon.
"Gah!" She sumersulted out of the way. Thats when two butterfly daggers appeared in her hands, "Wha?"
Saïx jumped into the air and came down once more, his weapon below him as he uses his power and weight to slam it down on her.Iris crossed the blades infront of her blocking the attack and attempted to push him off. He jumped off, moving his hand forward. Several Dusks sprang up and attacked Iris.
"Leave me alone already!" Iris yelled angerly. Hey eyes glowed dark blue as strong gusts of wind suddenly started up and the dark clouds rolled over the sky.
"Forget it. You're coming with us, girl!" Saïx yelled. More Dusks began to appear.
"Iris!" Axel yelled, fighting off Dusks. "Forget this! Believe that you're still fighting Seifer! Believe that all of this is an illusion!"
And that's exactly what she did. Next thing she new everything was back to normal, "Wha-- whoa!" She dodged Seifer's attack and wacked him hard on the back with the sword.
Seifer fell on the ground with an "Oof!" and a groan. Rai, Fuu, and Vivi quickly came to their fallen leader's rescue. Vivi began looking over Seifer for injuries, muttering "Oooh.." over and over.
Rai looked angry. "Hey, you definitely did something! You cheated!"
Fuu looked at them. "Doesn't matter. Tournament decides winner," she said simply.
Hayner grinned. "Yeah, yeah, she beat your butt and you know it Seifer. Go back to the rock you crawled out from." Seifer scowled at them as he got up, but he and his crew walked out.
Iris stayed slilent Did that all happen or was it REALLY an illusion...?
"Yo! Earth to Iris? You awake?" Hayner said, waving his hand in front of her. "Hellooo?"
Iris shook her head,"Huh? What? Oh sorry."
"Are you okay?" Olette asked.
"Yeah I'm fine." Iris smiled, "Just thinking about how much fun it will be to kick Seifer's but again at the tourament tomarrow."
Hayner grinned. "That's the spirit!" he said. "Well, let's sign up, then head home for rest. We'll definitely need it tomorrow." He walked over to the sign-up sheet and put his name down. Iris nodded and put her name down after him. Hayner grinned. "Alright, we'll meet here 30 minutes before the tourney to get ready. 'Kay?"
Iris nodded, "Ok."
Hayner nodded. "Promise?"
Iris rolled her eyes, "I promise."
"Good," Hayner said. "See you guys tomorrow." He grinned, then took the road back to his house.
Pence looked at Iris. "Something bothering you?"
Iris shook her head, "No. Why?"
"You're usually celebrating your victory over that idiot Seifer. But...you're not really that happy. Something wrong?" Pence asked.
"No I'm just thinking..."
"Oh.." Pence said. "Well, I gotta go grab some stuff for my mom. Talk to you guys later!" Pence waved and took off to the nearest shop.
"Hey Olette, let's go see exactly how prepard Hayner is for the Tournament." Iris said with a impsih grin.
Olette nodded. "Sure!"
"Let's go!" She ran towards Hayner direction.
Olette nodded and followed her back to their hangout, where Hayner was busy sparring with himself to train. Iris grinned and creepped up behind him.Hayner slashed the air in front of him with his stick, trying to hit his imaginary target successfully.
"HIYEA!!!" Iris had kratae flipped him. He hit the ground face first. Then Iris and Olette sat on his back, "Hmmmm I think he needs more training. What do you think Olette?" Iris asked jokingly.
Hayner groaned. "Come on...you guys need to let me train."
Olette smiled. "We're letting you learn a lesson - girls always win. And you need more training."
Iris laughed, "Yep."
Hayner smiled. "Okay, I get it. More training, girls are better than me. Can you get off now?"
"Hmmmm I don't know.... Should we Olette?"
"I don't know. I'm comfy right here," Olette replied.
"COME ON!!" Hayner whined, giving them puppy-eyes.
Iris busted out laughing, "Okay okay! We'll get off."
Olette got off of Hayner, then waited for Iris to get off before helping their friend up.
"Thanks," Hayner said. "What time is it?"
Iris checked her wacth, "One o'clock."
Hayner grabbed her arm while it was out and she was looking at it, and flipped her to the floor. "Thanks for the lesson, Iris. I learned something else - don't let your guard down."
Irish gave him a playful glare, "Why you..." She tackled him to the ground.
Hayner fell to the ground, but he grabbed her and flipped over so she was on the bottom. "Pinned you."
Iris just smirked, "Are you sure about that?" she then pushed him off with her legs and jumped to her feet.
Hayner was left on the ground, but he smiled as he got to his feet. "You're really strong, Iris."
Pence ran into the hangout. "You won't believe what my mom just told me!"
"What?" Olette asked.
Pence flopped down on the sofa. "My mom was taking something up to the shops, and she saw some freaky looking guy in black. All in black. I mean, it's the summer, what weirdo wears black?" He rubbed the back of his head. "It's just...weird. And then, my mom heard some guy saying that he had been hanging out by the train station for, like, 2 hours!"
Iris eyes widen Axel...?
Olette looked at Iris. "Iris? What's wrong?"
Iris shook her head, "Uh, nothing. Hey let's go to the train sation and see if that guy is still there."
Pence raised an eyebrow to Iris, wondering why she wanted to go.
"Yeah, let's go," Hayner said. "Might be something cool to see."
By now Iris was already out the door and heading for the train station, "Let's go!"
Hayner, Pence and Olette ran after her. "Hey, wait!" Hayner called. "What's the hurry?!"cIris response was just a simple shrug before quicking her pace.cThe three hurried to catch up to her as they continued to the train station.
When Iris made to the train station she looked around, "Axel...?" The train station was empty save for the few people trying to get tickets. Hayner, Pence and Olette finally caught up to her.
"Hey, what were you rushing for?" Hayner asked.
Iris didn't hear Hayner. She knew that the person was here but she couldn't see him. Where are you?
Hayner walked around to the other side of Iris. "Hey....Iris? What's wrong?"
"I... don't know..." Iris finally said.
Olette looked worried for her friend. "Come on, Iris. Let's go back to the hangout. The guy probably just left. It kind of creeps me out, to think he was just wandering around here."
Iris nodded, "Yeah, okay."
Pence and Hayner started walking back to the hangout. Olette waited for Iris for a moment, then started walking back. As they were walking Iris couldn't but feel like she was beening followed.
Axel stood atop the clock tower, watching Iris go. He knew he had to tell her....and soon, before Saïx decided to come back and cause trouble. He sighed, sitting down on the ledge.
When they reaced the Hang Out Iris sighed and leaned against the wall, "What do you guys wanna do?"
Hayner thought for a moment. "Want me to go get some sea-salt ice cream?"
Iris nodded, "Sure."
Hayner went out with some munny. Olette turned to Iris. "You've been acting really weird today, Iris. What's up?"
Iris shrugged,"I've... been having these wried thoughts lately..... Like is any of this for real or not?"
Olette looked at her weirdly. "What? What do you mean?"
Pence laughed. "I think I'm real, Iris."
Hayner wandered back in with the ice cream and handed on to each. "What're we talkin' about?" he asked, sitting down.
"Nothing, just that I think I'm losing my mind." Iris said with a smile.
Pence looked over at Hayner. "She thinks that maybe this world isn't real."
Hayner only shrugged. "Well, maybe it's not. Maybe none of us are REALLY real. Maybe we're just imaginary." Pence threw a pillow at Hayner.
"Don't think too hard, Hayner, your brain may explode," Olette joked.
Iris luaghed, "Wow that was deep Hayner."
"I'm deeper than you think," Hayner said. "But, anywho, here's to us - friends for life...and champions of tomorrow's Struggle!"
"I just picture the look on Seifer's face when he loses!" Iris said with a grin.
Hayner stood up. "It'll look like this," he said, and fell over, making a face like this @.@, with tears. "Ooh, pwease, don't hurt me!!" Iris doubled over in laughter.
Pence nearly spit out his ice cream as Hayner sat back down. "Well, it'll hopefully look like that."
"Make sure to bring your camra Pence!" Iris said before taking a bite of her ice cream.
Pence nodded. "Yeah, definitely. I wouldn't miss Seifer's look for the world."
Olette looked outside. "Hey, guys, let's head to the train station and watch the sunset."
Iris nodded"Yeah let's go."
The four headed up to the train station and to the edge to watch the town alight with the sun's red glow. Olette sat on the far side of the ledge. "It's so beautiful. My mom used to bring me up here almost every day to watch the sunset."
Iris nodded as she wacthed the sunset.
Axel watched Iris and her friends, sighing. She really likes this life....it's not like she wants to get away from it... He smiled, then frowned. Then...what does Saïx really want from her?
The next day...
Iris had woken up early so she decided to head over to the sandlot to wait for her freinds, since they all agreed to meet there. She leaned up against a wall and sighed.
"Waiting for your buddies?" Axel asked.
Iris jumped a few inches when she saw him, "Axel! I thought you were..."
"...Someone else?" Axel finished for her. He looked down at her from on top of the building she had been leaning against. He sat on the ledge, letting one of his legs dangle.
Iris tried to stay calm, "Okay either I'm losing my mind or you're real...... I must be losing my mind -.-...."
Axel only sighed. "I'm not exactly as real as you think...but I'm not an illusion. You're perfectly sane."
"Heh try telling that to my freinds..."
Axel only shrugged. "You're sane. Besides, your friends think I'm a freak, remember? Just some 'freaky looking guy in black'."
Iris just sighed, "So are you just going to sit up there? Or come down here where I can see you?"
Axel jumped down from the building, landing a couple of feet from her. His appearance had hardly changed, but his face seemed worn and tired. "There. Better?"
"Yeah.Hey are you alright?" She askded worriedly.
Axel shrugged and grinned. "Yeah, just stayed up all night to make sure you were safe. But boy...that clock tower is not a comfortable spot. I ache in places I didn't even know I had!"
Iris laughed slightly before saying, "No wonder I felt like I was being wacthed..."
Axel nodded. "Just making sure you were safe."
Iris smiled, "Thanks..." She then frowned when she saw Seifer coming, "Oh great..."
Seifer wandered over. "What? Sneaking out here early for some last minute training? How weak."
"And you're not?" Iris shout back, pointing out that he was here too.
Seifer shrugged. "I'm here because the gang wanted me to come. I just can't find them. They said they'd be here early and wanted me to come."
"Or mabey sombody finally knocked some sense into them, and relized what real jerk you are."
Seifer glared at her. "At least I don't talk to myself for ten minutes."
"Wha?" That's when she realized that Axel was gone. She then glared back at Seifer, "Oh shut up. You're just still sore that I kicked your ass yesterday."
Seifer shrugged. "Tournament decides."
"Sore loser."
Seifer on shrugged once more. Rai suddenly ran up and shouted to Seifer. "Yo, Seifer! Gots some news, y'know!"
Seifer looked over at Rai. "Later, loser," he said to Iris, then walked off.
Iris rolled her eyes, "Jerk."
"Of course he's a jerk," Hayner said, walking up.
"He's stuck up, and a brute too," Olette said, right behind Hayner.
Iris smiled, "Morning guys."
Olette smiled. "All set for the tournament?"
Iris nodded, "Yeah, I think so."
Hayner grinned. "I'm all set. Don't worry, Iris, you'll do just fine."
Pence ran up, holding his camera. "Whew, sorry I'm late. I forgot to get my camera."
Iris laughed, "I reminded you to bring your camra and you still forgot!" she joked.
Pence scratched his head and smiled. "Sorry." His eyes suddenly widened. "No way....it's Setzer!"
Iris turned, "Where?"
Pence pointed to where the spiky, silver haired man stood, decked out in his glory. He stood over by the signup board, just looking at the ring. "He looks amazing."
Iris nodded and then smiled, "I bet Hayner or I can beat him."
Hayner nodded. "No one can beat Iris and I. I promise you that."
A man went up to the ring. "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages, STRUGGLE is about to begin! All contestants, please, enter the ring for your fight pairings."
"Let's go Hayner!" Iris said as she ran to the ring.
Hayner followed her. Seifer and, strangely, Vivi, entered the ring as well.
"Whoa. Vivi is fighting too?"
Vivi made a giggling sound, and Hayner raised an eyebrow nervously. He whispered to Iris, "I've never fought Vivi before..."
"I never knew Vivi could even fight." Iris whispered back.
Vivi just giggled again.
"Alright," the announcer said. "First fight will be between Seifer and Vivi. Hayner and Iris will be afterwards."
"Seifer and Vivi? This will be intresting." Iris said.
Hayner nodded. "And then, we fight each other."
"That's gonning to be intresting too. We're both real good fighters."
Hayner nodded, but smiled. "Best fighter win."
Iris smiled as well.
"Rules are as follows!" the announcer shouted. "If you fall out of the ring, you lose! If you are knocked out, you lose! The one who lasts all 3 minutes and has the most amount orbs will win!"
Seifer and Vivi approached each other in the ring. "Ready?" the announcer called. "GO!!" Seifer went in a fighter's stance.
"You're going down, Vivi. No hard feelings!" he yelled, attacking Vivi. He knocked the little one across the ring, nearly sending little Vivi out.
"I almost feel sorry for Vivi." Iris said as she wacthed the fight.
Hayner nodded. "I know. Poor thing's too small."
Seifer lunged forward, ready to knock Vivi out of the ring, but Vivi was no longer there. A small giggle had Seifer turning around, spotting Vivi in the middle of the ring. Seifer lunged once more for him, but Vivi was suddenly at his side, smacking Seifer with his own fake sword and knocking him clear across the ring and on his side. Seifer looked astonished as he got up again, but Vivi was in front of him once more, slashing at him and hitting Seifer out of the ring and onto the pavement.
"Whoa! That has to hurt!" Iris fliched when Seifer hit the pavemnet.
Seifer groaned, slowly sitting up.
"The winner is Vivi!" the announcer shouted out. Vivi, for once, wasn't giggling, but was silent.
"Our next challengers are Hayner and Iris! You have 5 minutes to get ready and be in the ring!"
"Well I learned somthing new... Never tick off Vivi." Iris said as she wacthed Vivi leave the ring.
"I never thought Vivi was that strong," Hayner said, grabbing a bottled water.
"Neither did I."
Hayner set his water down and smiled. "Alright, let's go. Don't hold back on me, even though I'm your friend. Whoever wins, wins."
Iris grinned, "Same to you." She then headed to the ring.
Hayner grabbed his sword, swinging it once.
The announcer smiled. "Ready?"
Iris got her sword and nodded.
"GO!!" the announcer shouted.
Hayner went back on his left foot, then sprang forward, slashing at Iris.
Iris brought her sword up and blocked the attack and shoved him away.
Hayner backed up, then began circling her. "C'mon, Iris!"
Iris just smirked, before foot sweeping Hayner's legs from under him.
Hayner fell on the ground, but used his fake sword to trip her up.
Iris jumped out of the way, "Nice try."
But Hayner was now back on his feet, and he took his sword and smacked her with it.
Iris winced slightly. Those things did hurt afterall. But she quickly recovered and counter-attacked fast and hard.
Hayner stumbled backwards, but he jumpeding into the air and brought the sword down on her.
Iris rolled out of the way and wacked his side hard.Sorry Hayner!
Hayner fell onto the ring floor, but he quickly got up. He slashed once more at her.
Iris suddenly jumped over him. When she landed she quickly turned around and hit him hard on the back.
Hayner fell forward and fell out of the ring.
Iris stood there feeling bad for hitting Hayner so hard.
Hayner stood up and looked at Iris, then grinned. "Great hit!"
"And the winner is Iris!" the announcer shouted.
Iris smiled and jumped down from the ring, "I had fun fighting you, Hayner."
Hayner grinned. "Yeah, it was fun. Hey, you gotta beat Vivi and Setzer, remember that."
Iris nodded, "Yeah I know."She then noticed that Seifer was leaving the Sandlot leaving, "Man Seifer looks more mad then usaul."
"He got his butt kicked by Vivi," Hayner replied. "And Vivi didn't even say he was entering. I'd be pretty mad too."
"Iris and Vivi, you have 5 minutes to get ready before the final match!" the man announced.
Iris picked up a bottled water and took a drink, "Who would've thought that Vivi was that storng.."
Hayner nodded. "I know. I've never seen him fight so well. He usually just follows Seifer around."
Iris tossed Hayner the bottled water, "Well wish me luck." And headed to the ring.
Hayner waved. "Good luck!"
Iris smiled and waved back before getting into the ring.
Vivi walked back into the ring too, giggling.
Iris looked at Vivi "Well, may the best fighter win."
Vivi nodded, bouncing a little.
"Are you both ready?" the announcer asked. Vivi bobbled a little.
Iris gave the announcer a simple nod.
The announcer smiled. "Ready? GO!!" he shouted.
Vivi giggled, staying where he was.
Iris cricled him.
Vivi sort of watched her, then bobbled on one foot, then the other. He suddenly was at her side and he struck out with his sword.
Iris yelped in surpise but managed to block his attack, push him way, and counter-attack.
Vivi fell backwards with a little cry, but got back up and bobbled again, watching her.
Iris then ran at Vivi and slashed her sword at him.
Vivi was gone again. A giggle was behind her, and Vivi was at the other side of the ring.
Iris stopped, "What the? How are you doing that!?"
Vivi giggled, but suddenly, time stopped once more. But Iris and Vivi could move.
Vivi giggled again, suddenly turning into a HUGE Nobody, towering over her.
"Not again..." Iris stepped backwards alittle, "Where's Axel when I need him?"
As if on cue, Saïx appeared. "It's hopeless, Iris. Just come back to the Organization, and we won't hurt you. Your little protector can't help you any longer. We saw to him earlier while you played your stupid little games here."
"Go away!" Iris yelled stepping back even more.
The giant Nobody jumped at Iris, its long claws out. Axel jumped on top of its head and kicked off of it, landing in front of Iris. "Hey, sorry I'm late," he said. "Got a little tangled with some of his goons." Axel's one shoulder looked torn and mishapen underneath the Organization XIII robe.
Saïx sighed. "Fine. Two traitors with one hit. No problem."
"Leave... us... ALONE!!!!" Iris yelled her eyes once again glowing dark blue. Dark clouds coverd the sky and thunder could be heard.
Saïx looked up. "Get them!"
Axel looked back at Iris. "Keep getting angry. I'll hold off ugly." Axel's disks appeared, and he sprang up, hitting the Nobody.
Lighting fell from the sky and towards Saïx.
Saïx moved out of the way, his long weapon appearing in his hand. He threw it down towards Iris.
Iris rolled out of the way. Now she was mad. Suddenly a black keyblade appeared in her hand, "What the!?"
Saïx also looked surprised, but grinned. "So, that's why you've been protecting her, Axel," he said. "No matter. When you're nothing but dust again, we'll have a new keyblade weilder."
The Nobody smacked Axel with its long arms, sending him directly into the far wall. The Nobody then advanced on Iris.
"AXEL!" Iris glared at the nobody. Her glowed even brighter. With a yell she jumped onto the nobody and began to attack it like crazy with the keyblade.
The Nobody screeched as it was being ripped apart by her attacks, and it soon dropped to the ground from the Keyblade's power.
Iris then glared at Saïx, "You're next!"
Saïx only smiled. "Don't you want to celebrate your victory?" he asked. Time began again, Saïx was gone once more, and Vivi was out of the ring. The crowd was cheering wildly for Iris.
Iris looked around slightly surpirsed.
"Great job, Iris!" Hayner shouted.
Iris quickly snapped out of it and jumped out of the ring towards her friends.
Olette hugged her. "You did great!"
Hayner gave her a thumbs up.
Iris grinned, "Now all is left is Setzer!"
Hayner nodded. "You'll beat him no problem."
"Will Iris and Setzer please step into the ring for the final battle?" the announcer called.
Hayner pumped Iris' arm. "Good luck."
Iris nodded and entered the ring.
The announcer smiled at both. "This has been an exciting day, folks. Iris has advanced quickly through the ranks and no faces off against the champion Setzer. Ready you two?"
Setzer nodded. "Don't hold back."
"Same to you." Iris said.
The announcer stepped back. "Ready?! GO!!"
Setzer was immediately before her, slashing at her.
Iris rolled out of his way, and attacked right back at him.
Setzer jumped away from her, throwing his sword. While it was going, he went to the side of her and caught it before it hit her, turning and cutting at her.
Iris summersulted away, "That was a nice little trick. You wanna see mine?"
"Go ahead," Setzer said.
Iris ran straight at but slid right under him at the last second and was behind him. She jumped to her feet and hit him as hard as she could.
Setzer stumbled forward, but spun around and struck back at her.
Iris duck and foot sweeped his legs.
Setzer stopped his fall with his hands, turning and kicking her legs.
Iris jumped, leap frogged over him, and attacked him again.
Setzer stumbled back, turning and throwing his sword at her.
Surpisingly, Iris cought his sword. Now having two weapons, she jumped at him, attacking fast and hard.
Setzer was struck by the first blow, when a whistle went off.
"The three minutes are up! And judging by the amount of attacks given, the winner is Iris!" the announcer shouted.
Iris grinned, "You put up a good fight Setzer."
Setzer nodded with a small smile. "You fought well, Iris. You deserve the trophy."
Hayner jumped into the ring and ran over to Iris with Pence and Olette. "You did it, Iris! We knew you could!"
Iris grinned and hugged her friends, "Only because I had friends like you guys rooting me on."
Olette hugged Iris while the announcer gave her the large trophy.
Hayner gave Iris a thumbs-up and a grin.
Later that day...
The four atthe train station's clock tower and watch the sunset. Iris held her trophy up and pulled the crystal orbs off. She tossed the yellow orb to Olette, the red one to Hayner, green to Pence, and kept the blue one.
Pence smiled to her. "Thanks, Iris."
Hayner gave each of them a sea-salt ice cream. "Here, in celebration of the new Struggle champ, Iris."
Later that night
Iris laid in her bed but couldn't sleep, "Why can't I sleep...?" She wondered. That's when it her, "Axel!" She jumped out of bed, and ran straight toward the Sandlot.
Axel was walking around the Sandlot alone, looking around at everything as though he was seeing things that weren't really there. He kicked one of the wooden swords from the ring. His right arm didn't move to much, his shoulder injury still hurting him. "What a weird world. No wonder Roxas loved it so much...." He sighed. "I guess she loves it too."
"Axel!" Iris yelled as she ran up to him, "Sorry for leaving you like that! Are you okay?!"
Axel looked surprised to see her for a moment, then smiled and rubbed the back of his head. "It's cool, I'm fine. I was just looking around at your...uh...'home'."
Iris noticed his shoulder, "You're not fine. You're hurt! Let me see your shoulder."
Axel moved away from her. "It's nothing. I get into fights with Dusks and Nobodies all the time. Trust me, I'm fine. Got it?"
"Nooooooo you're hurt and I'm gonna help you. Got it!?" Iris said walking up to him.
Axel looked at her, then sighed. "Fine..." he muttered. He unzipped his Organization jacket, letting it drop. He wore black pants and black shoes, but a white and red sleeveless shirt with a silver chain much like Roxas'. His right shoulder was covered in blood and didn't seem to be in the right place.
Iris' eyes widen, "Holy crap! And you say'd it was fine!? What do you call THAT!?" She then sighed and grabbed his uninjured arm, "Come on. I got a med-kit at home." And dragged him at her house.
"Hey, woah!" Axel cried. "Your...your home?! Uh, won't someone, you know, see me?!"
Iris rolled her eyes"Relax. It's the middle of the night. Everyone is asleep by now."
Axel sighed, but held his jacket tightly in one hand as she dragged him to her house.
When they got to her house, Iris pointed to the couch, "Sit and stay." Before going to the closet to get the med-kit.
Axel looked at her for a moment like, Did that just happen?, then he sat down on the couch and looked around at the house. "Not bad..."
Iris came back and sat beside him, with the med-kit in hand. She opened the kit pulled out a bottle of ointment, "This might sting alittle..." She said before pouring some on his shoulder.
Axel winced. "Oww.."
After cleaning out his wound, Iris placed her hand on his shoulder, "Okay, I'm going to pop your shoulder back into place. All I ask is that you don't shout in my face or try to strangle me."
"Ehn," Axel said. "I'm okay with it. Just do it. I won't flinch or anything."
Iris nodded before popping his shoulder back into place.
Axel grimaced as his shoulder went back into place, but he stayed silent until it was done. "Thanks.."
Iris bandaged his shoulder, "You're welcome."
Axel nodded, looking around. "So, this is where you stay? It's nice."
Iris smiled, "Thanks." She then got up and put the med-kit back in the closet. She pulled a blacket and a pillow out and tossed them to Axel, "You might as well stay, since you're here."
Axel looked at her, "Thank you, so what shall we do?"
Iris smirked, "Sleep."
"..okay, fine by me" Axel said as he prepared to go to sleep.
"I'll be upstairs." Iris said before heading up.
"I'll see you in the morning then" Axel looked at Iris.
Iris nodded and headed to her room.
Iris' Dream
A girl in an Organization jacket leaned against a wall. She sighed when she heared the alarms go off. She knew what was going on... Axel was leaving the Organization. When she saw him running towards her, she smiled sadly, "So you're leaving?"
"Yes, it is WAY too boring.." replied Axel. "I need something new, better, and more exciting than this."
"Well, I've recieved orders to..... stop you."The girl said sadly.
"Do you really want to do that?" Axel stated. "Come with me, we can leave together."
The girl sighed, "No. I can't leave... Not yet anyways..."
Axel turned and extended his hand. "Come on, come with me. If you're afraid of them, I'll protect you. You don't need to stay with them. And if you're not afraid of them, then why stay?"
The girl looked down, "I--" She was cut short by Saïx who came out from a protal.
"Good. You found the traitor."
Axel turned to Saïx, "What?"
The girl looked away in shame, "Sorry Axel..."
"I..can't believe this.." Axel said in an angry voice
"Iris, You know what to do." Saïx said to the girl
She nodded and approached Axel, taking out her daggers.
"No..I won't be taken back..I WON'T BE A PRISONER HERE!" Axel said angrily "If you stand in my way, I won't have any other choice but to hurt you..and you know I don't want to do that."
"That makes the two of us." Iris said simply, "But orders are orders." She got into a fighting stance, "Surrender or fight."
Axel said in a saddened voice, "Then...I've got no choice..." Axel then took out weapons which became engulfed in flames, "I'm...sorry.." Axel charged at the her
She rolled out of the way and kicked him on his back.
Axel flipped back onto his feet and launched himself into the air, his disks flying out and towards Iris.
Iris deflected the first disk and doged the second. She then jumped up at Axel and attacked.
Axel's disks came back to him and he caught them moments before Iris was in front of him. He attacked her at the same time she attacked him, his disks laced with fire.
Iris shoved him away, jumped back and charged at him.
Axel landed on the ground and threw his one disk at her once more, fire flying at Iris. He ran towards her with the other one, prepared to strike.
Iris rolled away from the attack, and held her daggers up infront of her and blocked the second. Dammnit he's too strong!
Axel's disks came back to him, and his fire sprang forth, stronger now. He sprang forward, slashing at Iris with full force.
Iris jumped out of the way. She then fell to her hands knees, "... No more. You win...."
Axel's disks came back to him and the fire disappeared. His weapons also vanished. He looked down at Iris, but only sighed. He glared over at Saïx, then pulled his hood over his head. He turned and walked off, a dark portal opening in front of him. He walked through it and the portal closed behind him.
Iris stayed where she was not looking at Saïx. She knew what she did wrong.
Saïx smiled. "Very good, Iris. Axel will lead us straight to Roxas, and then Sora. You did very well."
End of dream
Iris shot up from her sleep panting.
Axel looked over at her as he sat in her bedroom window, back in his Organization jacket to cover him in the shadows better. "Bad dream?"
Iris stayed silent. She nodded and looked away.
Axel raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"
Iris finally spoke, "It was....about....when I....betrayed you..."
Axel stood up and walked over to her. "Look, you had to. It was your job. I've forgiven you. But Iris, Saïx is coming for you. You have to leave here, or he'll find you."
Iris sighed, "But I don't want to leave... My friends are like famaily to me... I don't want to leave them...."
Axel looked at her. "Iris, Saïx will kill you and them. You can't stop him. Don't you remember when you tried that?"
Iris just looked away, "............" She was being stubborn.
Axel growled. "That's it! I've been busting my ass for you for a long time, and you won't even listen!" He grabbed her by the wrist and opened up a portal, shoving her in. "You're going to remember!"
"Let me go!" Iris yelled trying to yank away.
Axel shoved her through the portal.
Iris fell on her hands and knees, "Oww..." she looked around and her eyes widen, The Realm of Darkness...
Axel walked in, closing the portal behind them. "You don't remember anything, and with what you do remember, you still don't trust me?!" Axel looked hurt and upset. "I can't believe this!"
Iris glared at him, "After what you just did!? No!" She got up and ran off.
"Iris!!" Axel shouted, running after her. "Iris, wait, I was only trying to help you!!"
Iris kepted on running. Suddenly a portal opened infront of her. Without thinking she ran thought it and it closed behind her.
"No, IRIS!" Axel yelled. He stopped running. "Now what am I gonna do...?"
In Destiney Islands
A portal opened up and out came Iris, "Ack!" She landed on her butt, "Ow..." She then relized she was in someone's room, "What the...?"
Riku looked over at her from where he sat on his bed with a book. "Who the hell are you?"
"Iris. Who are you? And where am I!?"
Riku pushed his silver hair aside. "The name's Riku, and you're in Destiny Islands. More specifically - in my bedroom."
"Heheh sorry... about that." Iris blushed.
Riku stood up and sighed. "Sora will never let me live this one down. Alright, let's get you outta my room."
"Yeah..." Iris nodded as she stood up.
"So..where did you come from?" asked Riku as he helped Iris up.
"Twilight Town." Iris answered.
"I've been there before, but I've never seen you there before.." replied Riku
"I only lived there for about a year." Iris explained.
"I see..well, in any case you should get some rest.." started Riku, then smiled and said "..you look like you need some rest.."
Iris just yawned in agreement.
Riku yawned "..yeah, I'm tired too."
"I should probally uh go now..."
Riku blushed a little, "..umm..yeah..well..uhm...good night"
Iris was about to leave then stopped, "Uhg wait. Stupid me I never even been here before." She looked at Riku, "Uh can I........stay the night?"
"..umm..sure, okay.." replied Riku
"Thanks..."
"No prob.."Riku nodded, "Here, let me show you where you can sleep" He said as he led her to an empty bedroom "No one sleeps here anymore, so you can use this room."
Iris nodded and walked in, "Thanks Riku."
"You're welcome.." replied Riku "..and if you need ANYTHING, don't hesitate to ask, okay?..here's you a pillow and covers"
Iris smiled slightly and took the pillow and blanket, "Uh.... night...." She blushed slightly.
Riku blushed slightly "Well..umm...good night..see you..in the...morning.." Riku blushed as he let out a slight smile.
Iris quickly turned away and made her bed to hide her blushWhy am I acting like a moron!?
Riku walked out the door blushing thinking what is this feeling, I've never felt anything like that before
Iris yawned as she layed down onto the bed, "This is just screwed up..."
The next day...
Riku woke up early and went outside to train with his sword.
Iris wacthed him thourgh the window. He's kind of cute...
As Riku trained with his sword, he noticed Iris watching him, he yelled out and asked her,"Would you like to spar?"
Iris' eyes widen when she saw that Riku noticed her, "Gah!" She fell backwards onto her butt, "Ow!"
